Necessity driven design

Design and necessity has driven the design of idyll, particularly the solar energy aspects and has resulted in the unique roofline which improves solar energy capture. It also provides a spacious interior space with high ceilings, which is arranged around the kitchenette which is positioned underneath the sleeping platform to make the most of the space available. The heat and power systems are stored underneath this platform and accessed from outside.

The challenge

Getting a cabin into a field using various types of technology was always going to be a challenge and a significant amount of time has been spent researching available off grid solutions alongside sustainable energy experts. We now offer a wide range of options which enable an idyll Cabin to be placed in nature and can be operated off-grid for much of the year and with minimal impact on the surrounding landscape.
